The research problem

Immigrant learners may encounter linguistic, cultural and accessibility barriers when engaging with curriculum materials. SONA studies these needs and translates evidence into digital learning objects designed for fourth-grade classrooms in Türkiye.

Research and development approach

The project brings together needs analysis, instructional design, multimedia development, learner-centred evaluation and sustainable web delivery. It examines learner interaction with design elements and uses the findings to improve both the resources and the repository.

Institutional context

SONA is hosted by Ondokuz Mayıs University and funded under the TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001 programme. The principal investigator is Prof. Dr. Emine Şendurur. Researchers from several Turkish universities and a school-based partner contribute complementary expertise.
